Methamphetamine users may have split or deteriorating teeth that must be removed. This is frequently caused by a combination of xerostomia (dry mouth), prolonged  periods of poor oral hygiene, regular  consumption of high calorie, carbonated drinks  and tooth grinding and clenching. Some studies  have also speculated that the acidic type of the drug is a contributive factor.
