Nearly nine meth labs have been discovered in the Alaska region during the year 2003. However, this number has increased to nearly 42 just last year. These reports are found from the findings of the narcotics team investigating the drug trafficking in this State. The various officers of the Children Service’s organization states that most of the effect is on children. In a month, they receive almost 40 phone calls from people who got abused or affected in relation to some kind of addictive drug. Last February, the investigating team has arrested a couple at Willow who has been given warnings for years from the authorities. They continue abusing meth and their 3 young nieces got affected in the middle of such an environment.

The Alaska state is full of meth labs. Reporters say huge active meth labs are found in desolate garages. The symptoms made them sure. Huge pile of mess, dirty dishes, messy rooms with clothes lying everywhere, frozen pipes. Investigators also found rooms in the basement of the house where a meth lab set up was seen at one corner. They even found traces of marijuana being made there in the house. No children were found inside the house however their belongings proved the presence of three young kids at home. They also concluded that these children even slept in the garage in the middle of the meth lab.

The eldest girl of these three children wrote a hand written letter conveying their problems to the judge. They wrote about marijuana and crystal being bought in front of them and huge money being spent on these in place of food and other necessities. The authorities have taken the three children with them and the parents have been jailed. The children who live inside a meth lab run the risk of getting addicted to meth through contamination.
