Methamphetamine is a highly addictive drug which acts as a stimulant and affects the central nervous system of the human brain. In US meth addiction has spread to a great alarming level. Drug abuse especially by youngsters and teenager’s ahs become a thing of concern in the Midwest. It is not only harmful to the person abusing it. Meth has become a danger to the members of our community and the society. We never know when we will come in contact with a meth addict. For children this drug can be extremely dangerous.

Various awareness programs are being developed by the government in US to educate school children regarding the devastating effects of crystal methamphetamine. They are told stories that are real and about real people who ha become addicted to this drug. The more the school children get knowledge about meth, the more they will realize the dangers.

School children are also asked not to touch or taste any object which looks like meth. They are also told about the look, appearance, effects of meth so they can recognize the drug the moment they see it. Young children can easily fall victim to meth if they are not aware. In various households where meth addiction is prevalent there the children are not well taken care of. Parents are not at home for long times. Lack of food and facilitates can lead to unhealthy growth of young children. Parents who abuse meth are not able to take care of their children.

In rural communities teenage students in school abuse meth. They even spread it among other students as well as young children. Awareness programs are being started in schools to avoid this. Strict discipline and security are being strengthened in school campus and around school areas. For potential misuse of meth students are aware from beforehand.
