15. drugThe connection between abuse of methamphetamine and criminal activities are well understood by the people. People having addiction to amphetamines often commit chilling kidnappings, assaults and murders, brutal slayings to the police. The drug is a strong stimulant affecting the human central nervous system when injected, snorted or smoked. This highly addictive drug causes serious addiction when used for prolonged time span. The user cannot quit once he starts getting habituated with the killer drug’s euphoric reactions. Hence, to get their supplies they often commit crimes. However, due to loss of judgment in their brains caused due to the side effects of meth, their crimes are usually baseless and draw attention.

In the heat of the moment and confused delusions, meth users often commit crimes. There are also cases of cold blooded murders committed by addicts. In the year 1995, in Chula Vista a 3 ½ years old baby girl Genny Rojas was being nursed by Veronica Gonzales and her husband. Genny’s father was imprisoned and her mother was in a rehab for counseling treatment for meth. Genny’s aunt and uncle were methamphetamine addicts and were not suitable to nurse their niece. They tortured the baby girl for months and murdered her brutally in the bathtub. This married couple was sent to death row in California.

There are lots of such real life crime events that have been seen as the result of meth addiction. The world crime events have also seen the kidnapping of Amanda Gaeke in 1991 by David Allan Webb of 16 years age at North Park. He drugged the girl for 36 hours and tortured her and raped her. He tied her when he went to school. The girl was later murdered and her body was hidden in a canyon. During 1997 he was arrested and pleaded guilty. The most significant role played in such crimes in the drug effects of meth consumption.
