It is assumed and supported by several reports that usage of methamphetamine is decreasing at the national level in America but there are few states which feature abuse of methamphetamine drug among young crowd. Although compared to other drugs, usage of methamphetamine is less popular but the fatal effects make it extremely hazardous. Western states like Idaho are grappling with the undesirable effect of methamphetamine usage. The ‘Idaho Meth Project’ which was released in the year 2008 revealed the trend of methamphetamine usage through out the state which was quite shocking. The outcome vividly showed that the young ones and young adults are standing at grave danger point due to irresponsible intake of methamphetamine. 45% of the young adults who took part in the survey admitted that methamphetamine is easily available in Idaho and also 305 of then stated that they were offered to use the drug by peddlers or peers who are already into supplying or abusing of methamphetamine and would probably be in need of a good meth treatment program.
There were other findings as well which enlightened the causes that are responsible for making methamphetamine usage popular among teenagers of Idaho. About 22% of the teens strongly believed that this drug will provide them with unique pleasure. Another 25% of the young users felt that this drug will help them lose extra weight. There are young people who feel not much risk is involved in trying methamphetamine several times. The worse part is that almost 41% of the students admitted that they did not stop their peers who took methamphetamine and continued using it. In order to understand the hazardous effects of methamphetamine on the communities of Idaho, the report by ‘Department of Corrections’ can help a great deal. It states that more than 80% of the total 2000 female drug offenders identified methamphetamine as the cause. The state spends 66 million dollars every year in order to house male abusers of methamphetamine. Don’t wait and get yourself into a good meth treatment in Idaho and live a drug free life!
